The
small vertical incision technique has the best aesthetic effect
because it leaves minimal scaring on the breasts. Classic
surgery leaves big horizontal scars on the breast, which prevents
patients from wearing low-cut dresses and blouses. With the
small vertical incision technique, the scar is placed on the
edge of the nipple and therefore is not visible. There is
also a small vertical scar (5 to 8 cm) below the nipple, but
this fades with time.
This
surgery is performed under general anesthetic. In our surgery,
a top anesthetist administers the anesthetic.
PRACTICAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PATIENT

to surgery, the patient needs to go through an internist
examination and has to have a blood test in order to make
sure that they are healthy and that they can undergo the
operation. The examinations are not done in our surgery.
Stay in surgery is 24 hours, and after that the patient
is sent to home care.
-
Stay in Zagreb is 7 days. After the 7th day, patients who
are not from Zagreb can go home.
-
Recovery and sick leave is 14 days. On the 14th day the
sutures are taken out (stitches are removed). Sutures don't
need to be taken out in our surgery. A local GP or surgeon
can remove the stitches on the 14th day after the operation
and after that the patient can resume their normal life
and professional activities. However, the patient should
avoid hard physical activities and the lifting of heavy
objects for 30 days after the operation.
