If
agreed with the surgeon, a patient can decide to undergo the
additional surgery in cases of lowered or asymmetric eyebrows
or a furrowed forehead. Some people are more prone to having
deep and noticeable furrows on the forehead. In such cases
a facelift alone is not enough to obtain a satisfactory rejuvenation
effect.
Some people have obvious disharmony between the upper and
lower parts of the face, with regard to aging. When the upper
part of the face looks much older than the lower part, the
patient can decide to undergo a forehead lift, if agreed by
the surgeon.
The
operation is painless for the patient and can be done under
general or local anesthetic with a sedative. During this operation,
the skin on the forehead is tightened, which results in the
disappearance of the furrows on the forehead and the raising
of the eyebrows. The rejuvenation effect can be noticed in
the expression of the eyes. They seem to be more opened and
look younger. The incision is usually made within the hairline
and therefore is not noticeable after the operation. In cases
of a high forehead, a cut is made exactly in front of the
hairline.
PRACTICAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PATIENT
- The
patient needs to do an internist examination with an ECG
and blood tests

The patient stays in the surgery for several hours and afterwards
is sent to home care

The length of stay in Zagreb is 2 to 4 days

Stitches are removed 7 days after the operation but that
needn't be done in our surgery. A local surgeon or GP can
do this in the patient's hometown.

Recovery and sick leave last for 10 days and after that
the patient can resume his / her normal life and professional
activities
